I met with Gabe Lozano, founder and CEO of LockerDome, last weekend for coffee and to connect for the first time. I learned a lot over an hour chatting with him about entrepreneurship and the technology community here in St. Louis. While we enjoyed talking about start-ups and our community, the conversation quickly turned to the GlobalHack event this coming weekend. Gabe founded GlobalHack earlier this year and along with Drew Winship (founder of Juristat), they put together a very successful hackathon event back in Feb 2014. Unfortunately, I was out of town and didn’t get a chance to attend, but my team had a great time participating and connecting with local, like-minded folks.

If you haven’t heard about GlobalHack, here’s some quick info about it in the group's own words:

“GlobalHack is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Our hackathons bring together developers, designers, and entrepreneurs to solve a real-world technology problem, for a real-world customer. The winning team at each event walks away with $50,000 in cash.”

This event will be a great opportunity for Enliven to do team building and spend some time together outside of client work. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with local tech and start-up communities. Tonight we are heading back to the second GlobalHack event sponsored by OGSystems and are ready to tackle whatever challenges get thrown our way. We are most excited about getting our team together and having a good time, meeting new people and doing what we love. This should be an exciting event and may be stressful for many, but we plan to focus on having fun. If we win, it wouldn’t be a disappointment 🙂

Also, for those of you who are coffee lovers, Enliven will be donating a whole lot of specialty coffee starting tomorrow morning at 7AM through midnight. So go get some good rest tonight and enjoy a few good cups from our friends at Blueprint Coffee tomorrow. Thanks to Kevin Reddy for pulling this together at the last minute.

If you haven’t already registered and are looking for something fun to do this weekend - and a chance to take home $50,000 in cash - come join everyone at the Cortex Center tonight. You don’t have to know everything, just bring a general excitement for technology. Come find some teammates to take on the challenge with! There are plenty of groups with empty slots.

Follow us on Instagram and Twitter for more progress on our journey this weekend. See everyone in a few hours! Let the 48 hours of fun and craziness begin!
