This week our CEO and founder Cuong Dang will lead a group of business professionals on a trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This is Cuong’s second trip to Vietnam through the Asian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC), and his first time going as the organization’s vice president.

The AACC was founded in 2011 with a mission to ‘[build] a community of Asian professionals, Asian business owners, and those engaging in business in Asia.’ This organization is incredibly active in the St. Louis community, and strive to position the region to be internationally competitive. In 2014, the AACC began organizing annual trade missions where St. Louis-based professionals and entrepreneurs meet with Asian business leaders and investors to foster international cooperation, opportunity, and growth.

Trips like these are valuable to everyone involved for a variety of reasons. Most obviously, they foster relationships that can be used to further the economic success of participating countries. International dealings can bridge the gap of supply and demand for technology and talent to keep up with the ever-growing need. It also helps change the climate for immigrant entrepreneurs and students, like Cuong once was.

This year’s trade mission is the AACC’s biggest yet, with the participation of Mizzou, Washington University, Enterprise Holdings, MasterClock, Objet Design, Hollywood Casino and other St. Louis-based small business owners. We are excited to see what new relationships and opportunities come out of this trip. Safe travels, Cuong!
